Sustainability at Skylark
At Skylark, we have always strived to be a responsible corporate citizen in every geography that we operate in. Keeping in mind our nature of business, we seek to make a positive difference in following avenues:
Energy Efficiency Using Biogas Plants
In order to manage the large amount of organic waste generated in our facilities, we have installed indigenously designed biogas plants. The clean energy generated from these plants enables us to depend less on the grid electricity and diesel-based generators.
Pioneering Avenues for Income Generation
We also pioneer new business avenues that eventually get emulated by the society and become major revenue generators. For example, when we ventured into feed mill production at our Safidon unit in Haryana, we started a trend. Today, there are more than a hundred feed mills in the area.
Providing Technical Assistance
Our in-house nutrition lab is equipped with NIR grain analyser and HPLC. This laboratory not only tests the quality of the raw materials that go into our feed mills, it also provides testing services to other smaller farmers who operate smaller capacity feed mills around us. This helps them choose the right raw material for their mills and develop their business. We cascade poultry best practices to smaller farmers so that they get better yields through lesser feeds
Introduction
Skylark Hatcheries was established by Mr. Jagbir Singh Dhull and Mr. Jasbir Singh Deswal in 1985. Today, the Skylark Group is one of the largest poultry producers in India. Through an unwavering commitment towards quality, excellence and strategic integration, we have built a diverse portfolio of operations that include grandparent stock, parent stock, hatcheries, broiler contract farming, feed production, poultry processing, large-scale mechanised farming and equipment fabrication.

If there is one word that summarises Skylark, it is Passion - Passion for Quality, Passion for Excellence, and Passion for Progress.
Quality, at Skylark, is not just a word but a philosophy that is ingrained across our processes and operations. We have always strived to be a quality leader in India's poultry sector and it is this quest that helps us stand apart.
Excellence and quality go hand in hand. One is necessary for achieving the other. An important factor that has contributed towards excellence at Skylark, is integration. Around 15 years back, we embarked on a journey to integrate our businesses, both forward and backward. Today, we ensure excellence by not only controlling the genetic quality of the chickens we raise, but also by undertaking large-scale mechanised farming to ensure the nutritional value of the feed provided to them.
When we talk about progress, we do not mean it just for Skylark, but also for the farming and business community at large. We command respect in the market today because our products have ensured higher profits for everyone involved. Going forward as well, our growth plans will be charted keeping in mind the profitability that we can facilitate and not just the profitability that we may receive.
